Part 2

This is Robert. I don’t know anything about Robert’s favourite restaurant, but you do. So I’m going to ask you some questions.

What’s the name of Robert’s favourite restaurant?
What does he like eating?
What ime does the restaurant open?
Where is Robert’s favourite restaurant?
Is it cheap or expensive?

This is her cousin, Sarah. Now you don’t know anything about Sarah, so you ask me some questions.

 


Part 3

Look at these pictures. They show the story. It’s called ‘The brave teacher’. Just look at the pictures first. (Pause) Look at the first one.
This is Nick and Anna, they’re looking out of the classroom window. The teacher isn’t happy because they’re not doing their work.

YLE FLYERS Speaking Part 2: Как задавать вопросы?

На мой взгляд наиболее сложная из четырех часть и для того чтобы успешно с ней справиться следует хорошо знать порядок слов в вопросе, времена (Future Simple, Present Simple, Present Continuous, оборот be going to) и перевод вопросительных слов.

Всего в английском языке 5 типов вопросов, а для выполнения этого задания Вам нужно знать 4 из них. Если времени на подготовку мало, тогда есть смысл сделать акцент на один только специальный вопрос (к одному из членов предложения) поскольку остальные типы вопросов встречаются намного реже.

Порядок слов в специальном, общем и альтернативном вопросах обратный — глагол перед подлежащим. Отработать навык построения вопроса с обратным порядком слов можно задавая вопросы к каждому члену предложения (за исключением подлежащего), например:

Специальный вопрос

Maria is going to the theatre to see an interesting play tomorrow.

When is Maria going to the theatre? Tomorrow.
Where is Maria going tomorrow? To the theatre.
Why is Maria going to the theatre? To see an interesting play.
What is Maria going to see at the theatre? An interesting play.

Общий вопрос

Maria is going to the theatre to see an interesting play tomorrow.

Is Maria going to the theatre to see an interesting play tomorrow?

Альтернативный вопрос

Maria is going to the theatre to see an interesting play tomorrow.

Is Maria going to the theatre to see an interesting play tomorrow or the day after tomorrow?
Is Maria going to the theatre or to the cinema?
Is Maria going to the theatre or is Peter going there

Вопрос к подлежащему

В вопросе к подлежащему сохраняется прямой порядок слов, то есть такой же как в утвердительном предложении — подлежащее перед глаголом, например:

Maria is going to the theatre to see an interesting play tomorrow.

Who is going to the theatre to see an interesting play tomorrow?

В вопросе к подлежащему используются вопросительные слова What? — «что» и Who? — «кто», но тестовых заданиях FLYERS встречается только вариант вопроса с Who.

Что следует помнить:

  • Обращайте внимание на времена и конструкции с помощью которых экзаменатор задает Вам вопросы и старайтесь использовать их.
  • Если Вам удобнее использовать другой тип вопроса или оборот — Вы можете это делать, главное требование это свободное владение теми конструкциями, которые Вы используете в своей речи. То есть если экзаменатор задал Вам, например, альтернативный вопрос «Is Paul’s bedroom upstairs or downstairs?», Вы, в свою очередь, можете не повторять используемую им конструкцию, а задать общий вопрос «Is Peter’s bedroom downstairs?»
  • Повторите вопросительные слова.

What — что/какой, which — какой/который, where — куда/где, who — кто, с кем, кому, why — зачем/почему, when — когда/в какой день, what time — во сколько(о времени), how — как, how often — как часто, how long-сколько(о времени)/как долго, how many/much — сколько/как много, how old — сколько лет, whose — чей.

  • Давать полный ответ на вопрос не обязательно. В ответе можно использовать одно-два слова:

How old is she? Thirty.
Has she got any children? No.

  • Говоря о том что происходит по-расписанию используйте Present Simple.

What time does the film begin?

  • Present Continuous описывает то, что происходит в настоящий момент.

What is she cooking?

  • Be going to выражает намерение в Будущем времени.

What is she going to see?


С опорой на картинку можно сказать, например:

This is Betty. She is cooking something. I don’t know what she is cooking, but you do. So I’m going to ask you some questions.

What is she cooking?
Why is she cooking it?
What is she using?
How long will she cook it?
When will they eat it?

Как и на предыдущем экзамене MOVERS достаточно будет сказать одно-два предложения о каждой картинке, но не получится справиться с заданием используя только настоящее время. Для успешной сдачи экзамена FLYERS нужно хорошо знать Past Simple и быть знакомым с Present Perfect.

Если Вы еще не отработали Present Perfect, узнаете его на письме, но не используете в устной речи — это не проблема, во время устного экзамена можно обойтись Present Simple, Present Continuous и Past Simple.

Используйте в речи Present Perfect только если Вы уверенно им владеете. Вместо сложных времен используйте устойчивые выражения.

USEFUL VOCABULARY

… to be going to …  

  • They are going to cook a cake for their mother.
  • They are going to climb the mountain.

There is/are …  

  • There are people skating.
  • There is ice.

Feel sorry/sad/happy …

  • Father’s umbrella is broken. Mother feels sorry for him.
  • The family is in the muntains now. They feel tired and hungry.

USEFUL PHRASES

Для описания людей и предметов, погоды используйте Present Simple

It’s summer. The weather is hot.
The spider is under the bed, it is not on the bed.
The woman has got curly hair, the others have got straight hair.

Для описания действий используйте Present Continuous

The bird isn’t flying, it is sitting in the tree.
The boy isn’t writing, he is listening to music.

Для описания действий и событий в прошлом используйте Past Simple

They waited untill night then went downstairs and entered the kitchen.

Говоря о том, что случилось только что и/или имеет результат в настоящем используйте Present Perfect

The ice has broken.
Peter has fallen into cold water. 


Какие допускаются ошибки:

  • Грамматические и лексические ошибки допустимы, главное чтобы речь была беглой, а ошибки не меняли смысл сказанного и не мешали пониманию.

За какие ошибки снижаются баллы:

  • Нужно дать короткое описание каждой картинке, пропускать картинки не следует.
  • С 2018 года нужно использовать имена героев и следовать теме истории заявленной в названии логически продолжая ее. (С названием истории и именами героев познакомит экзаменатор). Рекомендуем познакомиться с устным заданием нового формата.
  • Нужно логически завершить историю одной из типовых фраз:

He(she/they) is (very) happy.

He(she/they) isn’t happy now.

He(she/they) is sad/angry.

It is funny/sad.

В этой части нужно рассказать чем Ваша картинка отличается от картинки экзаменатора. Задание очень похоже на часть 1 из экзамена MOVERS, правда, на мой взгляд неоправданно легче, поскольку экзаменатор все свои отличия перечисляет сам. Таким образом, Вы слушаете вариант экзаменатора и затем просто повторяете конструкцию которую он использует заменяя в ней его отличия на свои, например, «In my picture there are three flags.» — «But in my picture there are two.»

Местонахождение людей и предметов описываем с помощью выражения «there is/are» как в примере выше.

Если нужно дать описание внешности — используем выражение «have got», например, «In my picture the man has got a moustache, but in your picture he hasn’t got a moustache».

Когда описываем одежду — используем выражение «be wearing», например, «In my picture the girl is wearing a hat, but in your picture she is wearing a scarf».


С опорой на картинку экзаменатор скажет, например:

In my picture, it’s half past three.
In my picture, there is a man by the desk. He is wearing black trousers.
In my picture, there is a girl. She is standing next to a table.
In my picture, it’s a sunny day.
In my picture, there are four tables near the window.
In my picture, there is a flower on every table

После слов экзаменатора «In my picture there are …. » Вам следует сказать:

In my picture, it’s three o’clock.
In my picture, there is a man by the desk. He is wearing blue trousers.
In my picture, there is a girl. She is sitting at the table.
In my picture, it’s a rainy day.
In my picture, there are three tables near the window.
In my picture, there is not a flower on every table

Всего в этой части может быть до 7 отличий, включая то, которое экзаменатор использует в качестве примера.


USEFUL PHRASES

Для описания людей, предметов, погоды и времени суток используйте Present Simple

There is a girl by the desk. / There isn’t a girl by the desk. There is a boy.

 The man has got a moustache. / The man hasn’t got a moustache.

It’s a sunny day./It’s a rainy day.

It’s half past three./It’s three o’clock.

Для описания действий используйте Present Continuous

The man is sitting. / The girl isn’t sitting. She is standing by the desk.

 The man is wearing blue trousers. / The man isn’t wearing blue trousers, he is wearing black.

* Не забывайте использовать BUT 

I can see …….    but       I can’t see ……

 There is / There are …….     but       There isn’t / There aren’t …….

 In picture A …..    but     In picture B ……
