FLYERS WRITING PART 7: Learning to write

Как получить максимальный балл или почему важно начинать писать как можно раньше?

Известно, что теперь в последнем задании письменной части потребуется написать историю…

  • Многие сильные ученики впервые сталкиваясь с заданием написать короткую историю или письмо «впадают в ступор», они просто не знают что писать. В течении двух-трех лет до этого они выполняли задания с четкими инструкциями (заполните пропуски, найдите слово, поставьте в нужную форму, переведите и тому подобные) и им просто не понятно откуда брать идеи.

  • Второй распространенной проблемой является лексика. Ученики с удовольствием берутся за задание и подходят к нему творчески, но результат не оправдывает ожиданий: вместо интересной истории получается набор скучных фраз. Все потому что им не хватает активной словарного запаса, львиная доля их лексического запаса находится «в пассиве». Сравните:

She was an attractive young dark-haired woman in her early twenties…

She was beautiful and young. She was 23 years old. Her hair was dark…

  • Насыщенный активный словарь это замечательно, но существует еще критерий релевантность-соответствие используемой лексики конкретному случаю. Понятие формальной и разговорной лексики должно вводиться как можно раньше, важно чтобы у ученика еще перед началом работы сложилось понимание этой разницы и был набор клишированных фраз для обоих случаев. Я не говорю о сложных лексических структурах, но самые простые и «ходовые» выражения уже должны быть на вооружении. Сравните:

Hi/Hello and Dear Sir/Madam

How are you? and I’m writing to inform you …

Write me soon. and I’m looking forward to your soon reply.

Bye! and Best wishes.

  • Грамматика тоже имеет немаловажную роль. Вы не напишете захватывающей истории используя одни только простые времена, сравните:

… I looked out of the window. It was raining cats and dogs, the wind was howling and that made the bravest back home as soon as possible… «What a disastrous night!» I thought…

… I looked out of the window. It rained. The weather was cold and windy. «That’s bad!» I thought…

  • Задача экзаменатора выявить Ваши сильные и слабые стороны, так что он не просто прочитает работу, но будет искать в ней маркеры Вашей грамматической и лексической компетенции: использовали ли Вы Past Continuous или Present Perfect? Какую лексику Вы выбрали, соответствует ли она уровню знаний на который Вы претендуете (Starters Word list, Movers Word list, Flyers Word list)?
    Нельзя забывать и о временных рамках; во время экзамена у вас будет 40 минут на 7 частей, а это значит, что на историю Вы сможете потратить не более 5 минут. Способность излагать свои мысли быстро и грамотно приходит с опытом. Отсутствие практики мешает ученикам сконцентрироваться, увлеченные идеей или охваченные волнением они забывают и о грамматике и о лексике.

Вот почему так важно как можно раньше применять полученные знания на практике не только в разговорной, но и письменной речи. После завершения каждой грамматической и лексической темы предлагать творческие задания (желательно близкие по формату к экзаменационному). Обсуждать работу после проверки, объясняя важность той или иной фразы или грамматической конструкции. Следить за временем.


Если же говорить о рекомендациях по выполнению именно седьмой части письменного задания Flyers, то основные из них следующие:

По информации Cambridge Assessment:

* минимальный размер работы — 20 слов

* вариант за который Вы получите высокий балл

(High) Sophia went with her friend Olivia to the circus. They saw a clown with a lot of balloons outside the tent. Then they saw the clown on his bike in the tent. There was another bike that no-one was riding. The clown asked Sophia to ride the bike. He gave her his hat to wear too. Everyone thought Sophia and the clown were very funny.

* вариант за который Вы получите низкий балл

(Low) Two friends went to the circus. The clown had two bikes. A girl rode one of the bikes and wore the clown’s hat.


Следующие из опыта работы:

*  Объем работы должен быть не меньше 35-40 слов; для того чтобы написать более-менее связную историю меньшим количеством слов просто не обойтись.

*  Следует показать свободное владение временами Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple. Использование Present Perfect и Past Continuous не обязательно.

*  Хотя в примере работы на высокий балл и выставлена высокая планка хочу отметить, что ребята сдававшие весной 2018 года допускали ряд грамматических и лексических ошибок (и честно говоря их вариант истории был больше похож на «низкобальный»), но это не помешало им получить максимум за Reading and Writing.

*  Допускаются ошибки такие как: однократное отсутствие определенного или неопределенного артикля, отсутствие или неверное применение предлога, правописание (когда слово узнаваемо и ошибка похожа на описку, например alian вместо alien или когда слово написанное с ошибкой не входит в список обязательных для Flyers, например skeliton вместо skeleton) и тому подобные.


Из учебных пособий рекомендую:

    • Отличный учебник издательства Longman Pictures for Writing Book 1 автора Mary Stephens заточенный именно на развитие навыка свободной письменной речи.
    • Не уступает ему пособие от Cambridge Assessment специально для подготовки к письменной части Flyers — Flyers Writing Skills Booklet автора Anne Robinson. Для Movers тоже есть пособие, называется соответственно Movers Writing Skills Booklet.
    • Для отработки грамматики лучше всего подойдет старый, добрый, переизданный (New) Grammar Time, для подготовки к Flyers выбирайте 3 часть.
    • Лексику и частично грамматику можно прокачать с помощью Puzzle Time for Flyers, все задания которого предполагают игровую форму подачи и отработки материала..
